TKD?

I originally found information about the Keto diet on bodybuilding.com and they suggest a "carb-up" day once a week or as a pre/post workout refueling. Currently I exercise pretty heavily as it is my only "me time" and I like the reshaping from lifting weights I have seen in a short time.
My question is more or less what should I do to maximize fat loss with as much muscle retention possible? Straight keto or the tkd?
If I did take a carb day it would be healthier carbs like sweet pots/high fiber wraps/steel cut oats etc.
Thanks in advance!
