Woohoo! Hit my previous max for squats (200 lb) for an easy, solid triple tonight! I'll be using it as my opening attempt in my first meet this weekend. :oD

Woo hoo - that is excellent. I would be really interested as to how that goes. I am looking at doing a PL comp so would love to hear how you find it.0

I'll let you know how it goes, for sure! I wanted to go to one before I get into weight ranges where I'll actually be competitive, to get familiar with what it's like. Plus I want to cheer on the rest of the team, who totally rock! :oD0

Thanks! HItting 200 for a rep PR felt awesome! PIty the workout as a whole felt unsatisfying... felt like I got warmed up and it was time to go home. This tapering things sucks. lol
Just have to keep my eye on this weekend and that BW+ squat I want to come home with.0 -

We brought home the Women's and Men's Collegiate Team Championship trophies, the Combined Team Championship trophy, and a host of gold and silver medals. We broke 20 American Raw Collegiate records (vids of many of those lifts are already up at https://www.youtube.com/feed/UCipksVgtaOYZ-NhV6KFf9xA ), and one of the girls actually broke the current EQUIPPED deadlift record in her weight class, although she was competing RAW! It was a very exciting day. :oD
Personally, I did pretty well. I weiged in at 93.6 kg, so ~207 lbs. I only made 6 of 9 lifts, but since I'm making such rapid beginner gains still it was pretty hard for the coach to figure out what attempts would make sense for me -- a week earlier, I'd hit my previous max for a triple in squats, for instance, and I'd maxed only a week before that! It's still so much on the neuromuscular side for me.
My squat attempts were 200, 215, and 226. I hit 200 easily, and went forward a little on 215 but recovered with no problem. For 226, I had the strength but not the familiarity with the weight. On the way back up there was a slight dip -- I didn't feel it, apparently I just adjusted and finished the lift, but got red-lighted because of the dip. So my official squat is 215, but I feel good about using 225 for programming purposes.
Bench -- my patheticness at bench is EPIC. lol My previous 1RM was 115, but that wasn't paused. I made my first attempt, which was 100, but failed both second and third attempts at 115. I just couldn't get it more than a few inches up from my chest after the pause. I'd never worked paused bench at higher intensities (I'd only decided to go to the meet a short time before, so hadn't really thought about it), and I think if I had we would have realized that a) my attempts should be lower and b) I need to work paused bench! lol
Deadlift was awesome. First attempts were 225 and 255. Cake. But after the earlier fails on the other lifts, my coach (and rightfully so) went conservative with the third attempt at 270. It went up so fast and easy that he sent me back to the warmup area to pull more. I did, pulling 287.1, which if it had been an official pull would have been a new American Raw Collegiate record! I was walking on air the rest of the day! Next time, that sucker's mine!!
Of course, it's also a sad thing. It just shows that not enough strong women show up and compete -- the deadlift record should be MUCH higher in the 94+ kg weight class. For myself, I intend to post a 3-plate deadlift profile pic before my birthday in May. :oD0 -
Wow, what a terrific report, I loved reading this -- thanks for sharing with us. I can't wait to read that you got that record!0

haha I'm looking forward to that moment myself! Planning on USAPL Raw Nationals in July. :oD0

I just wanted to say I am in AWE. That's amazing, and good luck at your next meet!0

lol I think "oozing epicness" is my new favorite phrase! Hyperbolic when applied to me, of course, but I'm totally stealing it. :oP0
