What's on your feet?

I'm going to buy some new running shoes today and looking for what people like. I did an assessment on running room and was given some suggestions and I'm wondering what people think of them. What's your favorite shoe? I need good stability and light weight with some cushioning. I have wide, flatish feet and I'm a heavy stepper.

I just bought Nike Lunarglide 4 and really like them. Very comfortable.0

if you have a running store newr you, I'd suggest having them fit you. The closest one for me is 3 hours away, but I had to go there for a training. They measured my feet, watched me walk and then gave me 3 shoes to try on. Then he watched me walk (and run) with them on.
I ended up with Brooks. Trance 12. LOVE them!0 -
I LOVE my Brooks!!0

It's always best to try them on. Bring an old pair of runners with you to a running store and they'll be able to see your walk/run pattern and recommend a good shoe for your foot.
I really like Saucony shoes on my feet.
I saw the running shoe assessments at The Running Room as well and want to check out a couple of their Saucony suggestions.0 -
I wear Brooks Ghost 5 but that would not give you stability. I'm a neutral runner. Try a running store to see what feels right. Check out Mizuno too - the Wave Inspire or Wave Alchemy might be good for you.0

I wear Vibram Fivefingers and I love them! I was having issues with shin splints and terrible knee/hip pain and decided to try these and barefoot walking/running as well and it has made all the difference!0

I've been wearing New Balance, I have wide feet & they make a lot of their shoes in D widths but I'm in the market for some new shoes soon.0

I have a pair coming in today. I'm going to wear them in the house and for indoor workouts to get used to them. I plan to eventually switch to a more minimalist running shoe in the future before hopefully transitioning to Vibrams for running or some other brand (I expect more choices in the future). Then maybe barefoot, but the thought of that worries me with all the stuff I see on the road - broken glass, small rocks, squished toads/snakes, etc.0 -
My first shoe (which is now an every day shoe, thus the life of a running shoe lol) was New Balance 560 all terrains.
Retired them when they hit 300 miles and got the Montrail Fluidflex:0 -

I love New Balance. One of the brands I really, really trust. They have great shoes!0 -

I've had my worries also about being barefoot but have read that once your feet are used to being barefoot they become tougher so that sharp things don't cut them as easily. I could probably say that's true because up until I was 13 I would walk barefoot virtually everywhere and I could run on our gravel driveway without wincing!
And I don't want to think about squished toads lol!!!0 -

LOL. I nearly hurt myself last weekend when I almost stepped on a small green frog while I was running (he was alive and just taking his time crossing the road). I had to do a mid-air correction and landed a little off balance.0 -
Running barefoot is great...but please remember to transition slowly. Just like you take time on here to build up a running base, take time to build up the tolerance to barefoot running. Barefoot running can lead to foot bone injury if not transitioned to in a safe manner.

I suggest trying them out first. I went to a running specialty store (Roadrunner) and found I need stability. I tried the Nike Lunaglide 4 and they were nice but ended up going with a New Balance 870v2. I had to take them back because my feet were in pain during my run attempts. I found I needed a half size up and went with the same pair. What a difference!0

How do you find a place that can fit you for running shoes? We have the regular shoe stores and we have a ****'s nearby. Any suggestions?0

http://www.meetup.com/Smyrna-Clayton-Running-Club/ you might want to check with the running clubs in your area and see which stores the experienced runners like.0

I have Nike Junior Lunarglide 3 and they are heavenly. My feet are size 5UK (7US/38EU) and as they're kid size they are cheap0

I got fitted at my local running store yesterday. These are my second pair of Mizunos and I love them! Too bad these bad boys are hideously ugly.0
