What if you can't lift? Can you still lose?

I am new to the EM2WL. I believe in this concept but what if you can't weight-lift all the time? My husband is in the oilfield so when he is away, its hard to hit the gym with a baby. So my only form of exercise is walking or workout dvds such as zumba. Can I still lose?
I have 10lb weights but thats it. I would really love to do my zumba and walk but I know cardio is not recommended as much. I am open to any recommendations or advice. Thanks

Have you looked at Cathe Friedrich's DVDs? You can do weights at home (you can get a few heavier weights etc. to use...they even have them at Walmart). That's what I'm trying to do (I'll let you know how it goes).

Thanks for the the response. I have been doing 30 day shred for the past few days, so I will finish and see how it works.

ABSOLUTELY! You don't have to be lifting to lose weight. My first month or so was just walking and about 20min of the elliptical and I was losing about 1lb/week. Lifting just helps to reshape your body and does help in the long run with metabolism because you are adding muscle which burns more calories even at rest.

Do what you can when you can. As long as you are eating at a deficit you will lose weight.

Absolutely! I lost the bulk of the weight on my ticker without doing exercise. I did 10-15% cut of my TDEE.

Lifting will slip you, but it s not necessary. If you live your Cardio, do it, just make sure, to et enough :)

You can absolutely lose weight without lifting. You can also use your own body weight if you do want to try to incorporate some strength training into your workouts.

Just use what you have at home. How about a couple plastic jugs filled with water? Or your baby? Lay on your back & lift the baby in the air - this will give your biceps & triceps a good work out. Or stand & lift baby over your head to work your shoulders. Again lay on your back, put on of the older children laying on your feet with you holing their hands ( like they r flying like superman) & lift them up with your legs/feet. Keep an eye on garage sales for used equipment too.
