went to my doctor today she my primary doctor, she in the same office as my diabetic doctor, she said as far as my A1c goes. Im no longer in the defention as a diabetic, but she didnt take me off insulin, she said to keep adjusting my insulin until im weened off it. what does this mean. My diabetic dr. last month when she took my A1c and got this results said she could take me off insulin and give me a oral drug to go along with my metformin. to me this is like dying and not going to heaven or hell.

What was you A1c? Both times...

I sent you a message, Rich.

Talk about mixed messages! I would probably stick with what your diabetic doctor is telling you to do. I don't see a GP for that very reason. I am relying on my Endocrinologist to give me the information I need.

I would seriously query the information you appear to have been given. See my message for detail.

Ok some of you are reading this wrong, My doctor was not saying I wasnt diabetic any more, she was saying that I had A1c of a normal person, I understand I will always be diabetic, I come from a family were both parents were diabetic plus a sister.

It sounds similar to a call from my doctor saying the insurance company was only ok-ing test strips for me to test once a day since I seemed to have lowered my A1c to an acceptable level. I'm still on meds, although reduced, trying to see where I can "balance" things. Hope the doctor(s) get on the same page so they work together for you.
