An antidote for too many carbs?

If I go over my target amount of carbs in a day, what should I do?

Do I eat X grams of fat per grams of carbs over the limit?
Do I eat any random amount of protein or fat?
Do I drink a gallon of water and hope they (the carbs) go away?
Do I just forget about it and start from scratch tomorrow?

What is the best strategy that others have used in this situation?

Thanks for your help.

You could try a "carb depletion" work out. It worked for me before. But, I don't bother now. I'd say forget about it and move on. You might be out of ketosis, but depending on how long you've been low carbing, you might get back in fairly quick. I usually get back in in one to two days. At most three if I overdid it more than one day. Also, water is supposed to minimize water retention, but I don't know if it works for carbs like it does for sodium.

Learn from it and move on. It's a process. Don't get derailed chasing perfection.
