reset: eating at same calorie level every day necessary?

hey;)
quick question: my activity level changes A LOT, some weeks I do not have time for sports at all (med student...), others I go jogging/swimming 4-5 times a week, so calculating a steady tdee for my reset is almost impossible.
can I do a reset eating at my tdee for sedentary (1570-1680/day) and just eat a rough estimate of my exercise calories back?
would my body still consider this a reset?
my background:
have not eaten at a low calorie level for a long time (averaged around 1200-1800 with bi-weekly peaks of 2500 for 5 months)
height: 5'9'' (175cm)
weight: 119 lbs (54 kg)
not looking to lose any weight at all, just to reset my metabolism as I suffer from a very confused one due to hypothyroidism!
Thanks for your help!!

Yep, great method. But really reset to TDEE if eating back best estimate of what was burned.
You got HRM setup with best estimated and not default HRmax?
HRM got VO2max stat you have estimated or used self-test function on?0 -

My activity level changes a lot too. I'm fortunate enough to have a BML, so I eat according to the amount I burn every day. It's been working for me!0
