Vision changes----

This is weird. I've been uncontrolled for a while now( no details, just think, "wow, that was stupid and I'll go on.)
My eye glasses have been perfectly fine, allowing me to read and see at a distance. The opthamologist
tells me there is no macular degeneration and THAT is good news. I have been fairly tightly controlled for
the last two weeks. I am going to need to get a new prescription. Any one else needed to get new glasses AFTER
getting under control?

My blood sugars have been pretty well controlled for awhile, and I just got new glasses. But that's mainly because I had the money to get them now. My prescription the my new glasses have are over a year old.

You don't say if you have been having regular retinopathy tests. These tests are an essential part of managing diabetes.

last 2 years I go in once a year for full eye exam. My next one is september.
And the opthamologis is aware that I am diabetic so does all the
recomended exams as far as I know. No signs of macular degenewration or retinopathy.

I know I need a new scrip and new glasses, but i am holding off untill I get six solid months of fasting BGL's undercontrol.

I just got a new prescription - but my sugars were ok (6.0 A1C the same month I had my eye appt). They did all the extra tests (which I'd been doing most of anyway since I have a family history) and no issues there but I did get a stronger prescription. I don't think it is D related - just got bad eyes from my mom and D from my dad >:| I remember after diagnosis my doctor stressed to me about eye exams and I was like... yeah already every year since I was 10 so... way ahead of ya.
