Niacin

A friend of mine who is always super fit suggested I start taking Niacin to help increase my metabolism. I have read here in MFP and other online sites that it is a great diet and life style aid, but I have also read a few horror stories. I started MFP on 2-18-13 @ 260 lbs. I am currently 250 and have been for my last 2 check ins.
Any suggestions on Niacin or personal views regarding vitamin supplements?

The best aid to a super fit lifestyle is eating the right amount of foods and exercising intensely. Vitamins and mineral supplements are not needed. Taking extra niacin isn't going to help your weight loss. If you want to take a vitamin/mineral supplement, a general multivitamin will do the trick (and have PLENTY if niacin in it). Good job on your 10 lb weight loss. If you are stalling, please watch my video on fat loss plateaus linked on the front page of this group.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I stopped taking the multi vitamins a few years ago because my body doesn't do well with the iron that is in them, but I will take some time to look for ones that are low to no iron. Something I never took the time to do before. I don't think I have plataued yet because I have not been working long enough to stop loosing naturally.
I will take a look at your video though. Thanks again for the reply0 -
Check out vitamins for men. They usually have less iron that vitamins for women.0
