Is anyone taking any of these medications. In my research I found that Symlin may be better for weight loss and I am going to ask my doctor for it. I understand one of the side effects may be lows so you have to cut the insulin in half which is what I am looking to do. I would like to get some feedback on other people's experience.
Thanks.

Haven't tried Symlin, but I have been on Victoza for a couple of years. When I first went on Victoza my insulin dose dropped to just over half of what it had been pre-Victoza and I lost about 3-4 pounds over the first couple of months without making any changes to diet or exercise. I have had lows whole on Victoza but I was just as likely to get them when taking insulin alone or when taking Gluconorm or Glyburide. I test often and watch my carb/insulin/exercise balance to minimize lows and I treat the ones I have promptly and appropriately so this has never been a huge issue for me. Of course, as they say "results may vary" so maybe discuss it with your endocrinologist or diabetes specialist.0
