Question about using dumbbells and squat form

So I'm stuck using dumbbells for right now, most of the time. I started on Saturday, using two 30lb dumbbells. I found, while it seemed to be the right amount for my legs, I was struggling with keeping my shoulders back and my back flat. I could almost do it, but not quite all the way to 15. It seemed to be a little too much for my upper half maybe?

Should I go lower on the weight or am I overanalyzing my form? Should I expect the same issue with deadlifts? Looking at the difference in everyone's numbers between squats and deadlifts, I've already decided that I'm going down to 2 @ 20lb ea. for that exercise tomorrow.

Your back shouldn't be flat, it should remain neutral in it's natural arch.

If your shoulders are being pulled forward (hunched) because you're holding the dumbbells at your side, then yes, the weight is too much.

Never compare yourself to others and the amount of weight others are lifting. Everyone is different.
