scheduling

I've found myself stretching out the proposed schedule a bit... I'll do 2 work outs, sub a different cardio and then take a day to do some just light activity like a 3 mile walk...
I've had a history of bad hip and knee problems and when I was doing the 6 days straight found my knee swelling pretty badly and my hip causing pretty constant iritation... Now that has all diminished some and I feel like this schedule is working well for me I just wonder if it will cause any problems down the road with getting my fitness to a point where I'm ready to move on...
Right now I'm slated to go to phase 2 on Friday and while I've finally been able to master most everything from phase 1 I don't know if it will take me twice as long with my modified schedule to get through phase 2. Does anyone else personalize the work outs to better fit with things like injuries or other committments etc...

I do whatever works for me- I don't really think it makes a massive difference. It might take longer, but I am not in a hurry. I am doing workouts 3 & 4 an extra week just to build more strength. The whole "90 day" thing is a gimmick in my opinion. As long as you are doing it regularly (not skipping 5-6 days for no reason), I think it is fine. But, that is my thought on it.0

I agree, 90 days is more of an advertising gimmick because "Get fit in 90!" sounds good. The important thing is that these are good, sound workouts that can be used in a variety of ways. I'm personally following the 90 day plan just because I like the structure, but then I intend to use them to modify my own plan for maintenance. Do whatever feels most comfortable for you. The important thing is that you're doing it.0

I agree with the others-if you are making sure you are doing 5-6 workouts and eating right you'll still have great results. Don't get discouraged that it will take a little longer-you are listening to your body, which is a very important habit and skill to have! Keep at it-you are doing great!0

I agree with everyone else. I'm making my own schedule and I don't do her cardio at all. I do my own cardio which mostly consists of dance aerobics, walking, and tennis. I try to do her sculpting videos 4 days a week...doesn't always happen...but I make sure I do at least 3 workouts with her. I'm still working out at least 5 days a week. You have to do what works for you. It's definitely going to take me longer than 90 days, but I'll finish it eventually.0

thanks guys - glad to know i'm not allow in making the program fit me and my schedule and abilities... I'm thinking that it'll take me about 2 months to get through each phase if i do an extra set of work outs or stretch things out a bit... that puts me slated to finish at the end of July which hey - if i can be in better swim suit shape by then i'll be thrilled... finished phase 1 last night including surviving the plank moves which i haven't been able to do at allllll since starting the program... yay for little victories0
