Do you allow yourself an occasional splurge?

I allowed myself a maple bar today after my labs. I have to do them every 4 months and have to take my meds with food right after. I sometimes take a protein bar with me, but sometimes I grab a donut at the nearby bakery. I was surprised by how much sugar was in it and the calories were higher than I expected, but should be able to work with it and keep within the calorie count today. Do you think it makes a difference on the type of calories one eats in the weight loss? Not talking eating sugar all the time, but would a donut once in a while be worse than the same calories of something else?

It was very good. ;-)

I think...as long as you aren't over doing it on the bad stuff, that it won't hurt you. However, I do notice a difference on the scale if I have a lot more of something that is bad for me even if I stick within my calories. But I think that is because bad stuff stays with you longer. It takes your body longer to get rid of it. I don't really know, but those are my thoughts.
