What type of doctor?

Good Morning, Ladies.
Very long story short but I've been suffering with endometriosis symptoms for a few years now. I had an umbilical exploration laproscopic surgery done a couple years back and that helped stop the bleeding from my belly button...Yes, you read that right...but the cause was never found :ohwell: He removed some scar tissue, a cyst and fixed a hernia I didn't know I had. I haven't been diagnosed with it because no endo spots were actually found but my symptoms over the last few years have only gotten worse (I'll spare you the gross details lol) and it's time to head back to the doctor.
The only things is, what type of doctor should I go to??? I have an endocrynologist but I know he'd just refer me to someone else so I'm honestly not sure. My last surgery was done when my primary dr referred me straight to the surgeon because she had no clue what to do. Feeling a bit lost and in pain. Any help is greatly appreciated! :flowerforyou:

Hi there
Where do you live?
I am in the UK so our healthcare system is very different to the rest of the world, lol. But I would go so a consultant gynaecological surgeon that specialises in endometriosis.
Endo can be missed in laps- it sounds as though you had umbilical endometriosis, which would explain bleeding from the belly button (especially during your period).
If your symptoms have worsened I would find a specialist and request another lap. Google 'Endometriosis surgeons in (insert your area here)' and it should come up with results. I would particularly look for one who performs excision surgery rather than the standard laser/diathermy as the results from this are said to last much longer.
Good luck x0 -

Thank you! I think I may have found an ob/gyn right in the town where I work that specializes in treating endo! I'm calling them today to set up an appt. It did take quite a bit of Googling to find someone in this area but my fingers are crossed that they can help.
Thanks for reaching out!0 -
My appt is now set with the doctor for May 8th. I feel really lucky to find someone who is familiar with endo AND who is also so close!0
