great thanks Sara....I was worried then, today I have weights, walk and zumba so it'll be a high day and I'll just see how it goes. I'm also still coughing and full of cold though so I'll be playing it by ear. English weather too, beautiful yesterday, not so good today!
yeah chuffed about the jeans and put on some cropped jeans at the weekend which I haven't worn since last summer and they fit lovely now....last year they were just too tight and were put to the bottom of the pile! still no weight loss of gain since last week.....thanks I'll get back to you end of next week

If you have more than one or two a week, I would suggest you drop your calories on lower activity days to 1,500 - 1,600 so you don't end up using up all your deficit when looking at on a weekly average. Think of it as averaging to 1,700 calories and spreading those calories over the week based on your activity levels. energy needs and hunger levels.

That is one thing I do not miss about England - the weather, although where I live, Northern California, most years it rains as much as the UK - just not as cold.

That is fantastic. It looks as though some water weigh was masking your 'real' weight loss. Gotta love those 'whooshes'.

Hi Sara, I thought I'd give you a little update - no weigh in yet....but yesterday I received some body fat callipers - are these more reliable to internet calculators? anyway, it has me at 22% body fat! if they are more accurate i'm a very happy woman!!!! I'd still like to drop in body fat but that WAS my goal body fat! but I still have a bit of jelly belly I'd like to get rid of
    thought I'd share that

The reliability depends on the user and can be affected by hydration levels (as does all of them). I personally find that they are far more accurate than the internet calculators for me if used correctly as both the scales and the online readings come out between 6 - 10% higher than I am.

If you want an assessment you can either post in this thread or PM myself and/or SideSteel and we can do a visual estimate. Note the types of pics we will need in the OP. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/826435-bodyfat-estimation-thread

    Hi
quick update....weighed on Friday....was 143.1 so very slightly up....still no change on tape measure BUT I sorted out clothes yesterday and a pair of trousers I bought last year, still had labels on that didn't fit me 4 weeks ago now do so there's definitely changes going on....i'm happy with that. I think the weight training is definitely changing my body and wish I'd started it sooner

Sorry for the delay in the response

Thank is great news re the trousers. I find the same thing - measurements do not change but clothes fit does, which imo is one of the most important indictors.

It sounds like you may have some recomp going on when you are gaining LBM (mainly glycogen/water and possibly a smidge of muscle) and losing a bit of fat - they end up cancelling each other out.

    Keep us posted.
