I've been on Armor for about 3 years now. About 60 days ago my doc upped it from 60 to 90. I really don't notice the difference at all but I'm sched for a follow up at the end of this month. I am also chronically hypoglycemic but not currently on meds for this.
My issue is that I've been really trying to loose weight for about 6 months now. I've dropped some but it is very very very slow going. I have been using MFP but only recently got online and started reading posts and then found this group. I've read things in this forum that I had no idea about......... I was eating raw spinach and/or broccoli two meals a day!!!! What else am I doing that is harming me more than helping?!!
Really worried about this. I have a full list of questions for my doc. I guess I'm just venting as some of the stuff I've read here has scared the poo out of me!!

For some of us, weight loss is just frustratingly slow, not helped out at all by thyroid issues. Some people have no adverse affect to eating spinach or broccoli, some do. Try eliminating them from your diet, or making sure that you eat them many hours after you take any medicine you may be on. Definitely talking to your Dr is a good step.0

Hi,
Welcome to the group :flowerforyou:
Sorry the information scared you. :ohwell: So many people go for years & years without proper treatment & stuck gaining weight. That's where it really helps to learn all you can to get help.
But it sounds like you're doing really well! And you're on Armour that's another plus! Baby steps in the right direction on the foods. If you're not bothered by those foods (and it seems you're doing good), then don't worry about them. Many of us have come to the realization that those foods don't agree with us before knowing that they hinder thyroid. I eat lots of broccoli, but I have to have it cooked. Also spinach sometimes too... have discovered beet greens & swiss chard recently & LOVE them!
Many Dr's are not educated in the "foods" thing, but you can ask anyway. My naturopath confirmed much of it, but was easier on them then what you read online. She says to eat almonds (some places say not), and broccoli, etc... just have to cook it.
Hope you're feeling better, keep up the good work! :drinker:0
