Coconut oil & high cholesterol

I recently introduced coconut oil into my diet with cooking and using fat bombs made with almond butter. I just had my cholesterol levels checked and they were elevated... very unusual since my other labs looked good. My doctor really thought it was related to something I was eating so I brought up coconut oil because it was a new addition. She said that only about 30% of people can really process it properly in their system and this is likely the reason for my cholesterol levels being higher. I was surprised since it is being marketed as such a wonder food!!

I just wanted to share my experience since it was a shock to me. I plan to re-test in 3 months so I'll let you know if the levels go back to normal without the coconut oil.

Did they give you the breakdown on the cholesterol levels? Like HDL/LDL/Triglycerides? just curious....
