1h45m

So last week I ran my 3rd half marathon. (1st for the year). I ran it in a time of 1h52m35s. It was a flat course. Didn't really go out hard and fast, just wanted to run it. (as it was the 1st time I did this course).

Now I was briefly talking to a fellow running friend (retired from running now), and he said I should aim for 1h40 or 1h45. I have my next half scheduled in July.

Is aiming to get a 1h45 time for july too ambitious?
This course I ran last year (it was the 1st half I did), so it will be the same course this year, so I will be familiar with it.

I don't think that's too ambitious. I went from 1:50:37 to 1:45:00 in 4 months. That was between my 1st and 2nd half. I felt like I knew my body better in the second half. I kind of held back in the first one for fear of hitting the wall. You're trained up, now. Take some time to recover, then get back at it with a specific goal and game plan. I look forward to hearing about your new PR. :)
