Ouch! This shouldn't hurt this bad!

Day one was okay, but day two was much harder and on day three I couldn't bring myself to do them because I must have pulled something serious! It hurts to stand, walk, and ESPECIALLY go down stairs!! :( The tops of my thighs aren't just sore like they would be after normal exercise-it's painful. I thought I was doing them right, so I'm not sure where I went wrong. Is there a modification I can try? Help!

Oh my goodness, that is horrible! If you actually pulled something, I believe the best thing is to rest until you're healed. I did that a few years ago and, as difficult as it was, a week or so of no exercise was the only thing to get the pain to stop.

I hope you are feeling better quickly

It's going to suck not being able to exercise as much, I don't wanna get off track! I think i'll try swimming laps since it's low-impact. Thanks for the encouragement!!

OK, but if it hurts, stop that too. Honestly, it is better to sit out than to work through the pain. ( Swimming may annoy the injury due to the water resistance.) If you get sidelined by this, do crunches and upper body. You will still feel like you're accomplishing something, while healing.

When it feels like something hurts waaaaaayyy more than just normal DOMS, I do take a few days off exercising. And I do mean NO exercise at all. It helps to rest and let everything heal itself :) I find I'd rather take 2 - 3 days off exercising and then get right back at 100% than hobble along at 50% for a week! ^__^ You know your body best. Listen to it & I hope you feel better soon.
