So, since I last wrote, right after my "whoosh", I injured my leg while wogging. Dr. says stay off of it for 2 weeks, motrin 3x/day, ice/wrap, etc. I've still been doing the bench press and some ab stuff, but really no lifting :( Trying to keep my calories down, I have a vacation planned next week anyway, wasn't going to be able to lift then. So I'm really only missing a few extra lifting sessions, but also no Zumba or running.

Averaged about 1800 calories leading up to my weigh in this week, and I was down a pound (242).

What do you recommend, calorie-wise, for pretty much sedentary? I plan to go back to 1900 once I'm able to do the workouts as before.

I'm really irritated about this injury, I know you guys have been here before, but I was finally getting in a groove.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi

Sounds like it is a great time to take a diet and training break to be honest.

I would try to eat at maintenance during the week before your vacation, and on our vacation, do not worry about your diet too much. Just try not to go crazy and enjoy yourself. You will be ready to get back to dieting and training then. You will probably find you are more active during your vacation in any event so your TDEE will go up.

    Hello!

Just wanted to update the thread and see what you think I should do next.

Since my injury in the end of June, I took a diet and training break for about 2 weeks. I did some walking, but no lifting, Zumba or running. Was eating approximately 2400-2600 calories.

Back on the diet and training wagon starting July 15, lifting MWF, Zumba 1-2x/week and some long walks in the evenings. Averaging just under 2000 calories.

    Weights:
6-16: Lowest ever, after starting running, pre-injury, 240lbs
    6-29: 242
    7-12: 241.5
    7-25: 241.5

Planning on doing as you suggested before, 1800 on lift days and 2000 on non lift (hungry) days. Just wanted to check in and make sure you thought that was still the right move.

Thanks to both of you for all of your help, I really appreciate it.

How was your hunger on the higher/lower 1,900 average calories?

Much much better than 1750. I haven't lost though, so I'm worried it isn't low enough.

We may well end up having to drop your calories however, you may have some water weight increase due to getting back to exercising. Can you keep to the original recommendation and then get back to us in a week with what your weight has done.

Thank you for the cutting bump =)

Will do. You mean the higher/lower 1900 calorie, right? Thanks again for all of your help!

Update: I lost a pound from last Monday :) Weight was 240.5.

Averaged 1964 calories, 210 carbs, 79 fat, 95 protein. This week will be better. Should I continue on the 1900 average, or drop calories down?

    Thanks for the update.

Keep on trying to hit the 1,900 and get back to us in another week please. Also, try to hit the macros as well.

Will do. Thanks. I miscalculated carbs, was actually closer to 198 average. Going to really focus on protein this week! Thanks again!

Update: I lost another 1.5 from last week: 239 this morning. Averaged 1874calories, 155g carb, 78g fat, 135g protein.

Took some long walks, only managed to go to Zumba once and lift twice last week. Going to keep doing the same 1900 average unless you guys tell me otherwise :)
