So I had some disappointing news today, (I was NOT accepted into a doctoral program despite my stellar recommendations and a 4.0 in my post-Master's degree. I was stunned, my classmates were stunned, I went into a mini-breakdown, but am good now) and my typical response is to eat. Since I had my RNY surgery 12/11/12, I have been VERY good about what I eat, and how much, and when. But today, feeling very blue, I decided that eating a little bite of a brownie would not hurt.

Boy was I wrong! I have heard you speak of dumping, about how bad you feel, and what is does, but I really was not thinking things through. One bite in, and I went, "Oh crap!" There is a reason I don't eat sugar, or in my case eat bread/flour products anymore. I have never felt worse than I did after eating that one bite. But I had to fess up, since so many of you keep me focused and have been wiling to share when you have tough times or disappointments.

I am 2+ years post bypass and even now on occasion does the mouth gulp and swallow before prain kicks in. Old habits die hard. Dont beat your self up, it always goes away. Dumping gets better or u getbetter about bringing it back up. Sory about the school. I did not get into my med program for 3 tries.
