Hey everyone....

I am 6 weeks post op after having Gastric Bypass at Humber River Hospital Mar 7th 2013.
I have lost 53lbs since starting opti fast Feb 15th. I feel great.
So.. I am sourcing out for some ideas & feedback to see if anyone else out there is on the same page as myself.

Thing is.. since Ive had this surgery- not one bit of pain- no fullness feeling nor any complications with food. Basically I feel like I did before.. only I don't allow myself to have foods I shouldn't be.

Calorie wise I stay btwn 600-700 calories a day. I try to work out 3-5 times a week doing btwn 25-45 min cardio. And I get btwn 60-90g protein in.

First month I really didn't lose that much. 19lbs or so.. I had what felt like stalls that lasted forever.. and now Im at a pretty good pace.
I had my first lady cycle.... my god wasn't that a treat! worst ever... but I did drop some weight after that which was nice lol.

Just looking to source out.. meet some people who are in the same boat- whether it be sharing recipies or sharing weight loss.. I'm Shirley :)

My surgery was last August, and I started out pretty much like you. I also started to wonder if I even had surgery, since I had no problems. And then one day I didn't chew one bite of food quite well enough, and it got stuck. It wasn't a big deal, but I felt really horrible for about an hour before it came back up. Such a tiny thing. But I've been careful not to repeat the experience.

I think most people have a stall by the end of the first month, so that was typical for you. It worried me a little, but soon passed, as it sounds like it has for you. After that I had about five or six months of very steady loss. After that I have still lost, but it goes up and down more, week by week.

The key for me has been logging everything. I even log the calories in my vitamins and calcium every day. It all adds up. A lot of the people I have seen that have slow loss or long plateaus don't track their food, so are probably eating more than they think.

Good luck. It sounds like you are off to a great start.
