I tried a variation on Shepherds Pie that is very diet friendly and using Yams (or sweet potatoes) for the mash worked out great.
Started with a kinda standard recipe and used 500Gr of lean ground turkey breast, I used yams (commonly called sweet potatoes but aren't) for the topping. I like to mix in 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup of Kraft Lite Tex Mex cheese in the mash. Stir it in just before you put the mash on the top then pop it into a 350 degree oven.
It makes 4 friendly servings.
