I'm moving my body...now it hurts!

I've been exercising consistently for about a 3 Weeks. I do 30 day shred about 5 times a week. I recently added rocking body and/or the biggest loser cardio DVD. I never experienced soreness or pain. Now all of a sudden I'm sore all over especially my back and ankle. Why is this happening and how long should I wait before I start back again? I really need help with this. I don't want to stop and then lose my momentum.

My guess is that you've hit your body pretty hard for the last 3 weeks. You body needs time to adjust and prepare for the changes. do some low impact things until you get more weight off of you. (I'm 310lbs, so I know just what you're going through) I had a good friend/ personal trainer tell me that I'm putting too much presure on my joints doing all of the cardio and jumping. My body weight was too much for my joints and caused me to hurt all over. I took some time until I didn't hurt any longer and then started to do some low impact things, like a lot of walking and weight training. She has me walking every day but doing weight training 3x per week because shocking your body into 5x per week will do nothing but cause you to dislike this new change. I've lost 10lbs so far this month, and I'm not hurting anymore. Try to wait until you've lost more weight to do the 30 day shred because it is designed more for definition of your muscles, not dropping a serious amount of weight. I wish you well on your journey.

Thanks. I'm sure you're right. I guess I'll be taking it slow for a while.

Ditto on previous post..maybe try to do some low impact every other day and weights in between. Good Luck!
