Can I brag a bit?

This is my first post ever but I am so proud of myself. I was diagnosed type 2 January 8 2013. My A1C was 10.3 and my fasting sugar was 216. I think I went home and cried for about a week, then I decided to get healthy for me and my family. So 4 months later I just got my labs back and my A1C is 6 and fasting blood sugar was 89. All my other labs were in the "normal" range.
I also through diet and exercise have lost 50lbs. Hoping to loose another 20 to be at my goal weight. Now I am hoping to keep up this motivation for the rest of my life dealing with diabetes.
I appreciate this forum and love reading everyone's story and successes

Super! I wish I had been smart enough to get cracking at the weight loss etc when I was first diagnosed, about 9 years ago. My A1C has not been bad, under 7 the whole time, but the bg is not as good as it should be. You use the American measuring for that, I use the Canadian, so I can't tell quite how they compare! but you have done a great job and it shows me that I may be able to get there too!0
