Week 5. Here I come.

So I am headed into week 5 today. I run with a group so the majority of them will be moving on to week 5 day 2, but I was sick with a stomach bug and cold so I did not go on Monday. I am meeting with them today. I plan on doing w5d1, but I am hoping I feel good enough to push towards w5d2.

I'm heading into week 5 as well!! I literally just finished week 4 and feel pretty good about week 5. I now know I can run for 5 minutes so its not as scary as going into week 4 was for me.

I've just finished (about 20 mins ago lol) week 5, day 1  Loved it!!!! I'm having to use my treadmill for it at the moment because of kids being on school holidays but when they go to their dads I plan on getting outside and giving it a go!!!

The transition from treadmill to outside (and vice versa) can be challenging. Go slow and don't feel bad if you need to back up a day or two. It's totally worth it.

I second what Varda said. I'm currently transitioning from treadmill to the outdoors. It was brutal at first but it's slowly getting better and it's so worth the effort to be outdoors.

Congratulations on making it to Week 5. You are doing great!

I doing it on the treadmill as well. This is going to sound silly but I don't understand how to propel myself forward running outside. I can't fathom getting from point a to point b. I'm used to just running on the spot. I'm afraid to make the transition. I won't have a choice soon though because my treadmill is upstairs in my house & its like an oven up there in the summer.

Have done a fair bit of it outside so totally understand where you're coming from . . . have increased my speed on the treadmill from 3.8 to 4.2 so there's an improvement there and it's stuck on a small incline too

Sometimes I feel like I am running on the same spot. I am not quick outside by any means, but I love being outside.

Today I'm going to run w5d2. Now that summer is almost here I love to run outside. There's a lake not far from my work so I run along that, it's magic :)
  • ...and there you went, no sweat (well not quite). But I am absolutely thrilled to be moving on to week 6. I know Friday will be a hurdle, but I can push through it.

You can do this! Just Concentrate on keeping an even pace and keeping your breathing under control and you'll be done in no time.
