So my TDEE -20% is at 2177 on my MFP I put my goal to be 1550 calories but I eat some exercise calories back. I've been consuming about 1800 but netting about 1200. My BMR is about 1550. I'm not sure I'm doing this right help!

You should not net below your 1550 BMR for starters.

Why would you set your goal to 1550?

So you eat 1800 but net 1200? and your bmr is 1550? if it is 1550 is what your body need doing nothing all day. if the eating back calories works for you, then net 1550 all the time.

Exactly I was eating 1800 but only netting between 1000- 1200. And yes my bmr is 1550. I just adjusted my Goal calories according to tdee -25% which is 2040 so from now on I will just ignore my exercise calories.

Now, don't go shooting your body in the metabolism.

You've only got 40 lbs to go, 20% is probably enough deficit.

It's very likely that you will be netting below your BMR on more constant basis, which isn't good either.

That's only about a 550 cal workout. If that's most days of the week, you are leaving your body with energy reserves for sleeping, but not repairing and making stronger from exercise.

Shouldn't try to net at or below BMR on constant basis, leave something for the body to improve on, you'll appreciate results from your hard work.
