New & Frustrated

Hello! I'm not new to MFP but new to this group. This morning I decided that joining a group might give me the extra motivation and accountability that I need! I've found that losing weight and working out over 40 isn't the same as it was when I was in my 20s and 30s! Needless to say I'm frustrated! To add to this, I got married last year and now have a 2 hour commute added to my work day. I've found that I'm eating more and working out less! However, I am POSITIVE there has to be a way to balance all of this AND to lose weight!! As of today, I'm committing to doing that and my first step was joining this group! I hope I can find some support and accountability (and advice) that will help me on this journey. Thanks!

I totally understand how you feel. Ever since I turned 40 I've been steadily gaining weight. Now I am 48 and about 45 pounds give or take, overweight. Losing weight after 40 I definitely find harder. I am just trying to ease slowly into healthier living. Making small changes as I go. I'm walking about 5 days a week. Two slower short walks (with my dog) and three longer faster walks. Eating is the hardest thing for me. I'm drinking a green smoothie in place of either breakfast or lunch, then trying to eat in moderation the rest of the day. Like I said, small changes so I don't get bored and overwhelmed. So my suggestion would be for you to also ease into it making small changes as you go. ;-) We can do this! Good Luck to you!0
