Im bit scared for the fact that i have gained like lots of weight, im only 5ft1 and weigh a whopping 218lbs, so sad :( and i have been reading peoples stories of how hard it will be to lose with being hypo.

Hi Newbie, I've been on here awhile but scared to talk to anyone. I've had a thyroid problem since 2009, I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. In 2011, I had thyroid removed and have had on going issues since off and on anyways. Once your meds are right, some things get better some stay the same. It depends on the person, everyone is different! Losing weight since my thyroid removal has been hard but slow. Anything is better than nothing I figure.

Don't be scared! We're all in this together, and for some it can be difficult to loose, for some not so much, it really depends on a lot of factors, so focus on finding out what kind of thyroid problem you have, and getting straight on your meds if necessary. There's lots of information to read up on, but first things first.

Well, you came to the right place by joining this group. You'll find lots of good info and support. Weight gain is no fun, but at least you have made a start in the right direction. There are going to be times when you get very frustrated with the whole situation, but don't give up!
