Follow the food guide or set your own macros?

I'm starting the CLX/Turbofire hybrid on Monday. I'm currently eating TDEE - 15%, and plan to eat at that calorie level for the duration of the program. My macros are currently set to 40% carb and 30% each protein and fat. Are you all following the food guide, or are you setting your own macros? 30% protein has me eating 150g of protein, which is more than 1g per pound of lean body mass.

Are macros as important as calories when it comes to dialing in nutrition?

I eat pretty much the same way you do and have my macros set the same as you. I don't follow the CLX nutrition plan. I try to get the protein in every day but never reach my 30% goal. Too much. They say to eat 1 g or protein per lean body weight and for me that's 105 g a day. MFP has me set at 150 g or something. Just eat as clean as you can. I find I do the best when I keep my carbs low.

Okay, thanks I'll keep aiming for 40/30/30. 1g of protein per # of LBM is 112g for me. I was going to cut at 15%, which gives me 2000 calories a day. 30% protein gives me a goal of 150g of protein daily....

As for carbs, my goal is to eat more fibrous and starchy veggies and fruit, rather than bread, rice, and pasta. I will keep my oatmeal though. We'll see how this goes..
