No more morning sickness! Is paleo the reason?

Hi! I just wanted to say that since I started eating this way about 3 months ago, I had a miraculous change in the way I feel overall. One of the biggest and most important things I'd like to mention is how I feel when I wake up in the morning now.

For YEARS I've had a problem with morning sickness. I contributed it to being tired in the morning and not getting enough sleep, but I never thought it would be coming from my diet. Every morning that I would wake up, I would constantly start dry-heaving and have this awful feeling in my chest and throat like I was going to puke (sorry if this is TMI). Nausea would also accompany a stuffy nose and an awful headache that stayed with me until about 3 hours after I woke up (let's just say I was never 'bright-eyed and bushy-tailed' in the morning). I thought that maybe this was a result from when I had stomach ulcers in high school and missed a lot of school.

So finally in January I went to see my DR and was recommended I see a gastro to figure out what was causing my pain. I never made the appt because my insurance sucks, long story short. About a month later I ended up stumbling across the paleo 'diet' and did a ton of research. I thought I would try it, on a quest for better health and to hopefully clean up my diet. I had no idea that it would completely eradicate my stomach pain in the morning and I'm truly wondering if paleo is the reason. Could it be the wheat? Gluten? Dairy? Anyone with a bit of info on the topic that could educate me further, I would really appreciate it.

i've found some unusual side effects too- I always have a blocked nose and by this point in the year I've usually been popping antihistamines like sweets to combat hayfever, I haven't taken one yet and my blocked nose is no more. it really is v strange.

    ANSWER: Yes.
Could be one or most probably all three.
    Consider yourself healed ;) Congrats.

My ketogenic primal lifestyle has cured all of my illnesses, some of which were very serious and life threatening. Many illnesses that were resolved are also ailments that most people live with day to day and think of as "normal"; for instance, sinus congestion, acid reflux, bloating, allergies, etc. I often get ridiculed here on MFP when I respond to threads offering my experience; but isn't it ridiculous to claim/believe that diet and health are totally unrelated? I think so.
