Pregnancy?

My husband and I have been happily married for 4 years now. I have managed to dodge the family pregnancy questions for a while now, but given my health concerns we are considering trying to conceive sooner rather than later.
The doctor wants to assemble an entire team of specialists to make this happen. Not sure how I feel about this....can't we just do it the good old fashioned way?! I understand endometriosis is one of the leading causes of infertility, but to be honest I don't want to be a laboratory experiment to make it happen. My husband and I would adopt in a heartbeat if we couldn't conceive naturally.
Anyone else go through this? Offer any advice?

Everyone's endo is different. Did your doctor say specifically why s/he doesn't think the old-fashioned way is an option for you?
My fiance and I plan to try for kids about this time next year. We know it may not work right away (or at all) because of my endo, but my surgeon also said he didn't find any endo in places that normally interfere with fertility. (The exception is the adenomyosis - that might give us trouble, but he still didn't seem too worried.)
Before letting yourself be subjected to a bunch of tests and procedures, maybe talk with your doctor again and get more specifics. I would also recommend checking your diet, as I'm a huge believer in following the endo diet. I do know of at least a handful of endosisters who were able to get and stay pregnant after making changes to their diets.
Good luck! Let us know how you make out.0 -
