Just finished week 8!

Its kind of crazy :) I was so scared of week 5 but thanks to you folks here I trusted the program and did what it said and now I'm on week 8 jogging in the park. Had to get a sun visor and some technical fabric clothes to keep myself comfy and a tune belt. So now I look like a runner too.

I started this program hoping to burn some calories but I still didnt quite imagine I'd be looking and feeling like a person who runs in 8 weeks. Oh im still slow and I'm still figuring out things but I guess that's how you do it.

This week I had a breakthrough of some sort because I got the hang of knowing when to slow down. I mean before I get so out of breath I think I'm going to die. It's been my hardest challenge all along. Even when I was only running 3 mins at a time.

I'm doing my first 5K next weekend and I'm really excited for it, but a little concerned that C25K has taught me to run for 30 mins, but i'm slow and it could take me a lot longer than that. I'm not worried about what speed I run, but I would like to run the whole way and I hope I can make it.

So that's going to be my goal. To run the whole 5K.

I checked out the 5K to 10K app and decided to get it! I don't know that I mean to be a long-distance runner for any reason but I like being on a program and it looks like it has some speed work built into it. At the least I can train awhile longer till I get to 5K.

I like running a lot more than I expected to.
Today I sweated a ton and I burned some serious calories.
No reason to stop just cause the app is running out of lessons, is there?

Experts agree that "finishing standing up" should be your goal for your first 5k. You'll be fine. The excitement of the race will carry you through.

Great choice. BTW, anything longer than a mile and a half is "long distance running" so you're already there.

Nope. You have your whole running life ahead of you. The potential is really exciting!
