    TGIF people!

Okay, I'm pretty sore from HG exercises. I'm going to have to play today by ear. Hoping I'll do the usual jog/walk in the afternoon and more HG torture tonight. ;-) If my legs feel like lead, I might have to make adjustments.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

TGIF!! It seemed to have come up fast! For those that celebrate Memorial Day, what are your plans for the weekend? We are going to stay in town and most likely do a little grilling on Sunday or Memorial Day. We will probably visit my in-laws grave sites, too. We have plans of visiting family out of town next week and make a visit to my Dad's grave site at that time. I can't believe he's been gone for 8 years now.

Completed CLX Burn Circuit 3 this morning which focused mainly on the shoulders and legs. Shoulders have always been my weakest upper body muscles and average size dumbbells used for them were 6.25 and 7.5 sets. For the lower body I used 12.5, 13.75, and 15 lb sets. I did the extreme slow set of 3 push-ups from toes. Last week I could only do a set of 2 reps on toes and 1 rep on knees. Next Friday I can see increasing weights for the Squat w/Calf Raise to 15 lbs and for the Sumo Squat w/Delt Raises to 8.75 lbs. Tough circuit with cardio affect!

Sherry, Julie & Sam: thanks for the tickle about your running experiences about hitting the "30 minute" mark. Sam, you are too funny and I can't wait to hear when you DO run for 30 minutes. It's all a work in progress I hear...heehee (I'm not a runner). Julie, WTG on your pace!! I find that a regimen of unhealthy foods definitely take my strength & endurance away from workouts, too. Sherry, watch out for that knee. My right knee was a little sore but I blame it on those datgum squats holding heavy weights. I usually get sore knees doing the CLX program...hmmmm.

Okay...need to go CLEAN my house. Everyone Have a FANTASTIC Friday and I hope to check back later.

As an experiment, I specifically ran for 30 minutes straight at the park today, just to see. No magic...I'm sorry to report. I also slowed my pace from yesterday. I felt surges of energy at different intervals throughout the run, but that had more to do with letting my mind drift than with the amount of time I'd been running. I'm finding that since I worked the bugs out of my running plan and my shins toughened up and all that, it really just comes down to a head game. When I can get my mind off the run, I can go pretty good, but when I start overthinking the run again, I start suffering again. Having imaginary conversations in my head seems to do the trick...next stop: talking to myself aloud while running. haha!

Pam, the HG exercises this week includes weighted squat with overhead press and I'm using two 5kg (11lb) dumbbells (OH how I WISH I had 4kg dumbbells!!! ugh!), so I suspect that is what's causing the knee problem, like you said about weighted squats.

Have a lovely weekend and especially a nice Memorial Day weekend in the US this weekend.

    Happy Friday everyone,

Pam that is awesome about your workout I need to get more strength training into my routine. I went for another run today with a total distance of 7.09 miles in 1:06:12 minutes. My pace was a little slower today but I was able to push myself through a very steep hill which I usually dread and end up walking at the top. Not today I ran the whole thing!

Tomorrow I was going to go for a bike ride with my fiancé but he is going to help out a friend at his camp so I am going to take my new bike out for a test ride by myself. He promised me that we are going to together on Sunday! Two days will do me good to rest from running!

Sherry: Try to find good music that will help you increase your pace for your run and motivate you to push through the minutes! I seem to daydream sometimes when I am running LOL. Check out jogfm.com it gives you running songs based on the speed and bpm that you are looking for. Hope that helps!!!! The more you run the easier it gets trust me.

Well hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!!

I got my weight lifting done yesterday evening before work. I find I have some soreness in my hip flexors.

As far as the running goes, sometimes it's easier than others. Of course, I'm only up to 3 mins of running at once with C25K. I find that music definitely helps. It gives me a beat to run to and also drowns out my panting. :grumble:
