Hi everyone! I absolutely believe in the importance of real food. I'm sure most of you do, too, which is why I'd like to make sure you know about the worldwide campaign "March against Monsanto" this Saturday, May 25th.
This is our chance, as global citizens, to raise awareness about the dangers of GMOs, pesticides, growth hormones and the like and to demand labelling of GMOs in the US. We, in New Zealand, already have compulsory labelling and GM crops are not allowed to be grown for consumption here.
If you haven't already, do some reading about Monsanto, read about their influence in India and the thousands of farmers who are taking their own lives because of Monsanto, read about Monsanto's terminator seeds. Know that approx 90% of soy, canola, corn and cottonseed in the US comes from GM crops and these numbers are increasing worldwide, too. Read about the tumours in rats eating GM corn, human fetuses with BT toxins from the DNA-added toxins in each and every kernel of GM corn. Watch Food, Inc. and wonder at Monsanto's complete lack of morals and respect for humanity and, indeed, life.
Read about and applaud the people who are taking a stand against Monsanto and their FDA cronies in the USA, applaud Peru for banning all GMOs, applaud Hungary for burning all their GM corn fields last month, applaud the Mexican farmers who are refusing to bow to pressure from Monsanto to use its seeds. People are starting to understand the dangers of GMOs and are taking a stand.
It's time for all people to stand up for real food and to protect our food chain. The more people who spread the word, the better
There are marches all over NZ - the one in Auckland is a rally in Aotea Square at 3pm. I'll be there with my two wee lads - we'd love you to join us!
Check it out online or on FB.
