A1C Still down

As my T2 MFP friends know I was diagnosed last summer with an HbA1C of 9.6%
I managed to reduce that a little with a change in diet, but as the weight continued to come off and the amount of exercise increased the positive affects on my A1C continued.
Today's results were 5.1% my lowest yet. This has all been through lifestyle change: summarised by "eat less and move more"
Results so far are:
HbA1c = 9.6% July 2012 - 253lbs
HbA1c = 7.2% Sept 2012
HbA1c = 5.7% Nov 2012
HbA1c = 5.4% Feb 2013
HbA1c = 5.1% May 2013 - 181lbs
I post this message this not too boast, but hopefully to help inspire those recently diagnosed and those looking for motivation to get their A1Cs down too. This has been achieved though diet and exercise, I am not on any meds for my T2.
If I can do it anyone can.

That's an awesome job! Yes it can be done and without medication.
I went from 7.2% at diagnosis in December 2012 to 5.6% in March 2013. So it only took me 3 months with diet and exercise to get below 6%. I'm hoping to get similar numbers when I go back in July.
Grats on keeping it down as well!! Not everyone is so lucky!!0 -
