Is there a recipes thread already?

I am about halfway through Stage 1 and loving this program. BUT, one of the biggest challenges for me has been the nutritional balancing act that I have to do each day in order to meet my goals.

So I was thinking, could we possibly create a Recipes topic and pin it to the discussion board? When I started at the beginning of May, I really had to shift my focus toward finding ways to change my diet without feeling like I was limiting my options too much. In doing so, I've come across numerous recipes and substitutions that might be helpful to the other ladies here. I'm sure you guys have great ideas that need sharing too! Every time I discover something healthy AND tasty, I do a little victory dance and tell everyone that I think will care.

I am hoping many of us in the group can help each other out. I'm sure we all know how easy it is to get bored eating the same thing every day.

Which leads me to today's discovery: In the Boar's Head nutritional info/recipe pamphlet that I picked up at the grocery store deli today, I was inspired to make a pretty tasty lunch wrap. This has a somewhat high sodium content, something it seems like I'm always fighting to keep at bay.

2 oz. black forest ham (25% less sodium) or turkey
1 oz provolone cheese
1 wedge laughing cow garlic & herb
1 oz raw spinach
-336 calories, 25g protein

If there is already a designated place for this type of thing, would you lifting ladies please let me know!

Not sure if there is one, but figured I would chime in!

The recipes I have tried from the NROL4W book have been good (Turkey Chili and the Spicy Jambalaya) .

I like to have little frozen baggies of cooked 4oz of boneless skinless chicken breasts available. That way, I can bump up the protein on any frozen microwave meal I have with the chicken! No extra work or thought involved and super easy to grab with the frozen meal for my lunch. Most meals have 2 cooking phases (cook, stir, cook again), so I just throw in the chicken for the final heat up. :)

Ooh I love the idea of a recipes thread!

I tried these this past weekend and they were awesome:

I've tried the avacado-tuna salad from the book and it was really awesome... and the protien oatmeal with all sorts of add ins are a staple for me.

Hmm, I'll have to think about this and post some more recipes...

Gosh I have so many recipes to share lol....

I will post my repeats right now. I haven't tried any from the book yet, I will have to get around to doing that here soon lol. Anyway, some of my major players:

    1. Chicken with Spring Vegetables and Couscous (you can sub in quinoa if you want, and still tastes good, just have to modify cooking instructions to support it)

    2. Protein Banana Muffins (These are great for people with wheat free diets because you use Oats)

    3. Applesauce Pancakes (low calorie because you sub apple sauce for oil, I recommend adding in fresh blueberries and make Applesauce Blueberry Pancakes)
