beginning lifting

hi guys, great forum, thank you!
I've been on my lifestyle change since Jan 4th & have lost 27lb, averaging about 1.3lb per week.
now that I'm feeling much better physically I've decided to put some heavy lifting into my routine. Thus far it's been mostly cardio, walking & stationary bike.
I enlisted the help of a lovely chiselled guy at my gym who has set me on a heavy lifting program; 3 days per week, 5x5, I still walk 4 or 5 miles on the other days.
I have osteoarthritis in my right knee so squats, lunges etc are out, so it's mostly seated or laying dumb bell work rotating the various muscle groups.
Since Jan 4th I've averaged 1775 calories intake per day, I've spoken with Sara before & have upped my protein intake, I (try to) eat 40/30/30 daily.
My question is whether I should change my overall calorie intake now that I'm doing more strength work?
thanks for any advice

Is your activity changing at all in total? Just to clarify, you are adding strength training 3/week and not reducing any activity anywhere else?
What is your current weight?0 -
I was walking 4-5 miles every day, the 3 lifting days will replace 3 of the walks
I weigh 187lb

I'd leave your intake as is for now. You should expect potential weight gain from fluid changes in the first few weeks so don't panic if that happens.0 -
