Blood Pressure After Total Thyroidectomy

I have high blood pressure. I have had it many years now and take medication for it. Since my total thyroidectomy it has been really low. Anyone else have this problem? I am starting to think that maybe the multi-nodular goiter I had might have caused the high blood pressure and I might just need the medication lowered.

I think that's only a question your dr can answer. While I've never had high blood pressure, I can say that my resting HR went from the high 70s to the low 50s after my TT. It just seemed that everything slowed down. But I don't know what the correlation is between heart rate and blood pressure is.0

I had 1/2 of my thyroid removed for same problem as you. I have hypertension from another disease. I did pass out and fell down a flight of stairs when my blood pressure suddenly dropped after another health problem was fixed (sleep apnea). I suggest you check with the doctor concerning your blood pressure. Is it too low or is it just low normal...this needs to be evaluated. If you have been running a higher then normal blood pressure and then go to normal is may 'feel' low, but may actually be fine.0
