Just discovered his blog this morning. The Nutrition 101 article is also good stuff!

    Really good article.

This was probably my favorite part/quote:

".....For example, looking at any one food in isolation simply doesn’t cut it. It’s like viewing a chip in the paint on the bathroom wall of your new home and saying, “This house is total *kitten*… let’s knock it down and start again.” That’s essentially what you’re doing when you pop a cookie in your mouth and decide that your diet is ruined."

    That is a fantastic quote!

Great article! This describes my past approaches to a tee!

"It’s always amusing and sad for me to meet clients who struggle with their relationship with food. What I find amusing and sad is the fact that when they’re “on,” their diets are far healthier than mine on any given day. They’re always surprised by this disconnect. “How the heck do you stay fit eating that?” However, when they’re “off,” it’s like they’re competing for a space in the Guinness (mmm, I love Guinness) Book of World Records for most rapid weight gain in a 24 hour period. This only stands to solidify why zooming way in and looking at things on a food by food basis or a day by day basis is flawed. My consistent diet that’s not necessarily as “healthy” as their “on” days leads to far greater results over the long term."

Agreed, that need to be stickied on the top of the General AND Nutrition forums because I grow tired of reading all the people whine about their "epic fail" after eating a cupcake.
