    Thank you ladies so much.

And let me just say, your numbers are VERY impressive. Do any of you wear knee pads during squats? The gym instructor at the gym was suggesting I wear them to protect my knees.

I used to coach a power lifting team, and I suggest NOT wearing any assists when you lift. I don't wear knee braces or gloves, and only use a belt if I'm maxing out. I have been out of lifting since my son was born (5 years ago), but am part way through stage one. I squat 135 for 12, and deadlift 135 for 12. I am 5'7" and 182.

I'm almost 5'3", which I can't change so controversy is silly, lol. My weight, at 263, I'm sincerely trying to change but its a slow go. If I wait for things to be perfect, they'll never get done, right?

So, squats. At my last workout I did 45lbs. When I started I had to hold on like I was in ballet and do the squats with BW only. When I do the AMRAP I'll be doing those, just to see how many.

Deadlifts, I started with the "squat" bar which is, I think, about 10lbs. Todays workout saw me at 95lbs (Oly bar plus weights).

My PB was squats at 180 and DL at 170. 3 sets 8 reps each.

I am 5'4 and 180 lbs. My goal is 1.5 of body weight each... so I still have a ways to go!

I just finished Stage 1 and I'm at 50 lbs for squats with a 50 lb bar, and then deadlifts I am at 105--45 lb olympic barbell and then additional 60 lbs added to it total.

Squat: 65lbs (I can squat double that, but I'm nursing a foot injury and don't want to overload it right now.)
    Deadlift: 135lbs
Only 2 sets of 15 reps right now as I just started Stage 1.
I'm 5'4.5" and 197-199lbs depending on the day.

Caveat, I had been doing high endurance strength training for 10 months and just switched over to NROL4W this week. So my starting weights may be higher than most.

OK my stats are a lot lot less than most, so I am really just posting in case it makes any one else feel better. I weigh 144 and am 5"4. I am squatting and deadlifting 40 lbs after 5 weeks NROL4W. This is up from body weight squats and 10lb deadlift.

I am shooting for over 200 pounds for both right now. My last set of Deadlift this workout (stage 1 5b) was 145 for 10. And it felt GOOOOOOOD.

Just coming to the end of stage 1 and i'm squatting and d-lifting 50kg which is approx 110lbs which I'm hapy with at the moment. I need to invest in some 2.5kg plates as my smallest plates are 5kg so I have to increase 10kg at a time, I tried 60kg on my last set of 8 and only managed 6 reps so not quite there yet: :)

    I'm 5'10" and weigh 160lbs

I have a question because I just did day 4 of NROLW. Are you including the weight of the bar in these numbers?

With the bar included today I did 95 on the deadlift and on the squat a couple days ago 50 pounds. But that is assuming that in both cases the bar is 45 pounds, correct?

    I'm 5'6 and weigh 112.

    I can squat and deadlift 135 pounds x 8 reps. I usually do 125 x 8, 125 x 8, 135 x8. Next week, I will try to do 125 x 8, 135 x8, 135 x 8. My goal is to squat and deadlift my body weight x 8 reps (170).

Finished New Rules. Now on Stronglifts about 6 weeks in, Squat 125 5X5, deadlift 155 5 reps only. I am 5 2 1/2 and stuck at 136. Trying to get back to 127. Other than frustratingly slow weight loss, NOTHING has changed my body and my fitness like strength training. Love lifting heavy.

I think people are including the bar (I am, it's heavy!) Yes, a standard bar is 45lbs.

I can squat 135lbs (3 sets of 10) with proper form. I got up to around 150 lbs but I couldn't get all the way down and up with 150lbs for 10 reps.

    I can deadlift 115 lbs (3 sets of 10)

    I"m 5'6" and 140 lbs.

I'm going to be starting this on Monday, but I don't go to the gym, just lift at home. Anyone else using free weights? Reading through this I'm already concerned that I don't have enough weight! Gah!
