Arrowroot

I have some pretty serious grain sensitivities. I've seen arrowroot in some Primal dessert and bread recipes, like this one: http://www.joyfulabode.com/2011/09/12/grainfree-glutenfree-primal-pumpkin-bread/. I'm going on a roadtrip, so I thought that pumpkin bread might be a good thing to take along, but I am kind of scared to try arrowroot because I've never had it before. I had a really bad reaction to hemp protein the other day, so I feel a little nervous about trying something new. Has anyone here had any experience with arrowroot, positive or negative? Please share. :)

I didn't have a reaction to it, but I did think it was a little bitter.

I just looked at the recipe and it looks great - but I didn't see Arrowroot listed anywhere...

I used almond flour to make a pumpkin loaf and it came out great.

    HI!
I use arrowroot all the time! Added into 'bread' or as thickener in sauces and so on. Haven't had any adverse effects whatsoever so far. Only thing you need to know is that you should never ever use it with any dairy products (turns very awful and slimy then).
Give it a try. I can also give you a lovely bread recipe without any additives (only a bit of baking soda).
