What is the "reset", do I need it? also Is this a good plan

Okay...Do I need a reset? Usually when I diet I eat around 1,300 - 1,400... I don't think my metabolism is that damaged.

My BMR is 1,500 .

My TDEE is 2,300 (might be 2,000 on days I don't exercise.)

So... I should keep my calories between 1,500-1,800?

    No you should increase your calories to 2000-2300. IF you've been dieting for an extended amount of time and you cut that low then I'd guess that you could benefit from a reset.

    A reset is important to be done, if you have been on low calories for a longer period of time.

    If you have not, than you can try and jump straight to your TDEE-10-15% and see how things are going.

    I'm back on MFP after about 6 months off. I've been exercising and lifting for about a week.

    1437 BMR
    2228 TDEE

    I'm eating about 1400-1500 cals a day and I feel like I'm getting enough to eat. I'm not hungry and I get plenty of protein.

    Will this continue to work for me? I'm still pretty muscular under the fat. I want to get the fat off to show my shape.
