Let's focus on one healthy habit at a time. Just for one week.
Week 1: Drink more water. Let's commit to drinking 6-8 eight-ounce cups of water each day this week.
Feel free to tell something about yourself or just say hi. I'm new at this "creating challenges" thing, so feel free to give ideas for habits to change or if you have anything to add

Hi this seems like a perfect challenge to take on one thing at a time every week is very doable.0

Thanks for joining! I'm Brandy from Atlanta, GA. Im a physical therapist. Married. No kids. No pets. I found out about MFP through some friends on Weight Watchers and now I really like it!0
-
Thanks Brandy for starting this. I can't believe how much effort it took to get my water in today! Wouldn't have made it without this week's challenge LOL!
I'm Retha, from WNC, married nearly 38 years, no pets, 2 DDs and 3 DGDs. I'm retired from the US Air Force and the
post office. I love living history events and do late 1700s and 1812 reenactments. I need to lose 60+ lbs so am in this forever. I heard of MFP from some ex-WW friends and it's working really well for me
Kath, glad you're here!0 -
Hi dear friend Brandy. I am Annette. I live in Houston. I'm a retired high school Math teacher. I love to crochet and be with my 6 grandchildren. I need to lose 60 pounds also. Since getting an I phone I have found MFP. Let's do this. Water it is.0

Glad to have you Ladies here! Let us know how well you're doing with the challenge or if any difficulties arise. I met the goal for yesterday!0
-
I'd love to have a weekly challenge! I don't think I ever have issues getting water in. I'll count to be sure tho.
I'm Melanie from NC. I am a wife of 14 yrs and mom to 3 beautiful girls (I'm biased just a little;) ). I work as a CNA for a wonderful retirement community and mostly care for residents getting rehab. It makes you thankful for the little things.0 -
Hi challengers, got my water in by noon so no problem today with that. Can't say the same about fruits and veggies, though .0
-
Melanie and Annette, glad you're in! I'd love to crochet and even made a scarf once but need to improve my knitting skills firstto avoid confusion. Like you I love my granddaughters.0
-
Thanks for joining, Melanie!
Got my water in today!0 -
Thanks for doing this, Brandy. I am Beth from MA, primary care physician. After losing more than 70 lbs, I have regained about 25 due to work stress, and now am struggling to get back in the "zone." Hopefully this "one week at a time" approach will help.
I count all fluids towards my "6-8 glasses of water a day" requirement. So far this week, I have had at least 6, but only once had 8, 8-oz glasses.0 -
Better late than never....I'm here with this group to improve my motivation for weight loss. I'm the best YOYO dieter around.
I hope I can stick with it this time and really keep it off once it is gone. I have a really hard time with going out to eat lunch during the week then the eating out on the weekends. So I know I have to make some changes all the way around for this to work. Cindy0 -
I've definitely gotten in my waters! If I wasn't sipping on water or caring for my residents I was in the bathroom!!!0
-
Melanie, that's how I feel too! Drinking water all day and going to the bathroom frequently!
Beth and Cindy, thanks for joining!
We can't change everything at once (and stick with it!), but we can focus on one thing at a time and hopefully this challenge will help with that. Hopefully this group will provide support for all of us, self included!0 -
Got mine in but too much to at dinner. Hoping I'm not traveling to the bathroom all night0
-
Cindy and Beth, glad you're in with us!0

Hi Everyone! I'm Reese...34, live in San Antonio. Not married yet (but in a committed relationship). I look forward to the weekly challenges.0
-
Hi Reese, nice having you join us! My DH and I are retired from the US Air Force and were stationed at San Antonio 1974-78 and really enjoyed living there.0
-
Welcome Reese! Glad to have u!0
-
Got in 10 today; unfortunately went wild eating peanuts tonight which put me over goal:) Not too bad thankfully. Have a good weekend all.0
-
So far so good this week with drinking water. I keep a water bottle filled at all times and when it gets empty I just refill it.0
-
Happy Saturday Ladies. A little slow with the water today, so I need to pick it up! Otherwise, I've been doing great w/ the water. Next week's challenge (starting Tuesday) will focus on sweets, so get ready!0

I feel like poop, hahaha. I just joined the group and have missed this challenge. This habit, however, is something that I have been working on. Can't wait to see what the next challenge will be Looking forward to finding out!!
.
I'm Mikalyn. I'm 21 years old and aiming to lose a total of 85 pounds. I've lost around 4-6 so far and it's just jumping up and down and all about because I had a couple off days. I have a hard time with motivation so I guess it's bound to happen, but I'm back on and strong and hope to stay that way consistently....eventually.
.
It won't happen overnight, but I will find consistency and that's a lot of the reason I joined this group...because I want to find a constant way of making good habits and challenging myself to be even better.
.
If I MAY recommend a challenge. I would recommend, uhm, writing a reminder for yourself to say something POSITIVE and putting it somewhere where you will see it...so the real challenge would be saying something positive to yourself every day for a week. It could be something that you've improved on or something that looks good about you....or something about yourself that you like.....it has to be something positive....something to lift your spirits. Because we can't always look to everyone around us for encouragement, yano? Sometimes, even if people encourage us, we have to let ourselves be encouraged...and if we can learn to put positive thoughts in our heads each day, then that would be a good first step??
.
Anyway, I talk too much, hahaha. Hi everybody!!0 -

Oh, okay, rofl. Was just wondering what the next challenge would be. Looking forward to it!!0 -
Welcome Mikalyn! So glad to have you. Join in the water challenge; it's a challenge we can continue even when the next one starts!
Regarding your suggestion for a challenge, that is a good idea. Keep a mental note of it b/c in a couple weeks, each person will have a week to choose a challenge for the entire group. Maybe we can even post something positive about ourselves each day that week.0 -
Hi Everyone! Thank you Brandy for starting 7 day challenge group! have about 36 pounds to loose after having lost about 155 pounds with WW and regaining about 30 pounds. This time I want to make it to my end goal and stay there for life. Drinking enough fluids is important to healthy living so I'm all in for it! I'll look forward to starting the next challenge on Tuesday.0

Thanks for the welcome and I'm glad to know my suggestion was appreciated...Idk, I don't mean to sound conceited or whatnot, but I think it's a wonderful idea... (whoops, I sounded conceited)...I really think that SOMEBODY (*cough WAYALUNA cough*) pretty much encouraged the diea.
.
I was told, at one point by "somebody" (*cough....ooooh, I give up, you know who it is)...that thinking positively about what you plan to become instead of what you don't want from what you are at the moment.....is much more helpful. It's much better to see a future than to stay in the present. Instead of saying "I hate being fat..." say something like "I can't wait 'til I'm smaller..."
.
This doesn't mean that we'll get to our goal just by saying the happy things and doing nothing to get to them, but this does mean that we'll be more motivated to make the effort if we say what we hope to achieve like it can be a reality...yano?
.
So happy to be in the group. Looking forward to being challenged!!0 -
