introducing myself

Hi All, I just wanted to introduce myself. I just had our ninth baby one month ago, and want to drop all those extra pounds that I've accumulated along the way. I tracked my calories during my pregnancy, and exercised and so only gained 10lbs this last pregnancy. The baby was 8lb11oz so it definitely didn't negatively effect her. After she was born, I was 10lbs less than when I got pregnant, and have lost an additional 4 lbs or so since then. This is very motivating! But I still have about 40lbs or so that I'd like to lose. So happy to have found other mommies to join along the way. Anyone else want to introduce themselves? :)

  • So nice to meet you mommy of 9, congratulations on your children and the new addition & thanks for joining the group !!
I am trying to lose a bunch of weight, I gained SO MUCH (50 lbs) while pregnant and trying to lose ALL OF it and then some ! I had a 9 lb 9 ounce baby and he is my first and only son so far..I was huge with him and had a c section and now trying hard to lose this tummy ! I can't believe you did so good with your pregnancy you sound like a pro ! I'm sure after 9 kids you know just what to do ! After losing the weight I plan on getting pregnant again maybe when my husband comes back from deployment ;) and want to do it the right way this time ! I was already over weight before I was pregnant and I'm sure that didn't help so I am gonna do things right this time around !! Good luck to you, it sounds like you're off to an amazing start and a positive attitude ! :)

Nice to meet you Jessica and thanks for joining !
Great job on breastfeeding your child it is worth the struggle !
Have you tried increasing your feedings or pumping ? Both can help increase your milk supply !
Prenatal vitamins are also a great help to get the nutrients you might not be getting in ! It's tough to make sure you get everything ! My son is now almost 9 months old and does feed less frequently and I don't want to lose my milk supply so what I do is drink lots of water (always keep a water bottle by my side, especially while nursing) and I pump and freeze so I can also get some time at the gym and leave him with grandma with some mommy milk !! I believe it is possible to not only keep your milk supply up but even increase it while still getting what you desire..your dream body ! I am trying there, so I feel you 120 % !!
I encourage you to continue to nurse your child you burn around 700 calories a day turning the food you eat into breast milk so it really does help while trying to lose this baby fat ! Good luck Jessica and I am here for you if you need anything :D

Check this link out for ideas on keeping your milk supply up for your little one !
Breast feeding has such life long benefits and your daughter will surely appreciate it later in life that you did everything you could to give her everything she needs. :)

I found as long as I am hitting around ~2000 calories a day we do ok. I just have to be very on top if it I just reduced my goal to lose 1 lbs a week it should help. We have increased the # of times we nurse she’s teething and wants to nurse constantly right now, like a newborn. So far no problems with her weight or development. Girls is starting to WALK took her first couple of steps @ 8 months 1 day!!!!

WOW Congrats !!!!!!! She sounds sooo advanced another great advantage from being breastfed, doesnt it feel great ?!?
I am aiming for 1600 calories a day for my weight and height and I want to lose 60 lbs and 2 lbs a week. I am just recently starting so if it is too much I am gonna drop it to 1 lb a week too, wish me luck haha :D
    What's her name ??
My son is nursing more often now that he has been teething as well, he has 2 bottom teeth and the ones beside them are about to pop thru very soon so he is nursing like crazy but I think it is definitely helping on my weight loss !!
What type of exercises are you trying, any luck ? I'm trying to start slow and work my way up like cardio first and eventually do more and more every 2 weeks and let my body get used to it and keep going !

    Hi Ladies,

    Sorry...my name is Veronica

I had a c-section too this time. Last baby was breech, and so they did a c-section with her, and there was no hospital within a reasonable drive that allowed vbacs :( Thankfully recovery went well.

Nice to get to know you ladies, and if any of you would like to be friends, please send a request. I'm not on here all the time since we homeschool too, and that keeps me pretty busy, but I get on when I can.

P.S. Jessica, that is a baptismal gown that Julia has on.

    Have a great weekend!

Oh and Natali, thanks for your husband's service to our country!

Ohhh thank you Veronica, that is sweet of you to mention ! I appreciate it !!
I heard that hospitals around where I am from don't do vbacs either and that makes me upset too, it should ultimately be the mothers decision if she wants to make that risk !!!
Nice that you do homeschooling with your children !! ? My mother did it with me and my sisters and it made me so much more advanced and could focus on my own school work than problems with public schools ! Good luck with all of your children your family sounds lovely :)

Hello, I am Jessie and I had my 2nd little one 9 months ago. I am on an ultra low carb diet ( carb night solutions to be exact) and its going great I have lost all that I gained with my 2nd and almost back to my pre-baby number 1 weight. I havent yet had a problem with my milk supply, but he is starting to ween him self... I was introduced to this by a friend that also nursed her LO.

I am so happy to be a mommy and wouldnt change it for nothing!
  • Hi y'all!!
My name is Silvia and i had baby #2 3mths ago. I gained about the same amount of weight as i did with the 1st one but i hadnt lost my previous baby weight so i started off my pregnancy overweight :( My goal is to loose 60lbs but in a healthy way...i also dont want my milk supply to go away. Im already having trouble with it as it is...im having to supplement with formula, something i didnt want to do in the first place but my lil boy seems to still be hungry after BF from each for 10-15min. well hope i make some friends here and praying that we all accomplish our goals!! :)
