We have a Trader Joe's that just opened in my town. I see lot's of people mention things they buy on the recipe they make. What is your fav. Trader Joe's item? What don't you like?

Their frozen food is extremely easy and yummy. Unfortunately, it's got all the sodium and other bad for you stuff that frozen foods usually have. :grumble:

I still buy their natural peanut butter - peanuts are the only ingredient, and their dark chocolate which comes in packs of three. With the chocolate, I'll just break off a square or two to bring me up to my minimum calories when I run low. One bar usually lasts me several weeks.
  • I adore Trader Joe's, but I seem to have different taste in food than other people. If you're on the verge of diabetes you know you need to stay away from the sugar, but they have a ton of great options for people on higher protein diets. Honestly, there are are very few foods there I don't enjoy and can you can return them, even if you've tried them, if they are not to your liking. Despite my carnivorous taste in food, I wouldn't recommend their processed sandwich meats. You're better off going to the deli and getting something fresh. They have a ton of frozen food products that are low in sugar and a considerably lower than they are at the regular supermarket.

My hubby and I have recently discovered Trader Joe's. We haven't tried a whole lot yet, but here are a few we really liked:
    creamy spinach dip (frozen)
    fresh salsa
    fresh hummus
pizza dough, white (whole wheat didn't cook right)
    pizza sauce
    orange chicken (frozen)
fried rice (frozen...goes with the orange chicken)

Not necessarily all "diet" foods, but they seem to have better nutritional stats than some places. And you can make a GREAT homemade pizza that's much healthier than buying one.

Their prices aren't bad for a lot of stuff (some stuff is a little more, though). For example, we've noticed that cheese is significantly cheaper there.

    Also, stuff I didn't like:
greek yogurt (I didn't care for their brand...but I love chobani and fage!)
moshi balls (green tea ice cream covered in some sort of dough)
tuna wrap (it was just kinda soggy)
