How much sleep do you get?

I have a challenge going to bed really early. I know I don't get enough sleep. I am an early morning riser, which is good, but I can't seem to fall asleep until 10:30ish (I get up at 5am)

I know this is a lifestyle and not just a way to eat. I am curious how other people organize sleep time.

I get about the same as you, 10:30-5, and at least 4 nights a week I get up with one of the kids. At 3 and 4, they still don't sleep well. I only end up for a few minutes but it makes for a less restful night.. Not enough sleep, but there just never seems to be enough hours in the day.

8-8.5 during the week, 9-9.5 on the weekend. I've always had major sleep issues, so I take Melatonin almost every night.

I sleep really well since I began Atkins in March. Now as a Primal eater I sleep 8-9 hours but wake up so refreshed. It really amazes me how much better life is all round now I only eat clean. The primal way of life rocks.

Not enough. Between five kids waking for various bad dreams, leg aches, potty tips and just crawl into bed with Mum moments, the dogs that decide at 4am they need to go out because they ate a box full of beets stored in the garage and the tap dripping that needs to be fixed...I don't sleep near as well as I should be.

I get up at 3:45-4 am, so I try to drop into bed between 8 and 9 pm to get at least 7 hrs of sleep. Our life is structured around me getting up that early to prep lunches and get the first bus and not get stuck in traffic on the way home to go to the gym & pick the kid on time. If I shift, things fall apart due to the insane commutes in our city.

My challenge is secondary insomnia (bi-phasal sleep), waking up in the middle of the night. I hate not getting enough sleep, but I 'power up' so easily upon waking I can't really sleep in. I tried valerian & I might as well take placebo. I want to get glutamen one of these days. At some point I wanted to try to take 15 min nap in the afternoon in the quiet room in the office, but I can't get to the room reliably, and the pressure of falling asleep on a tight schedule and waking up 15 min after with a BB alarm... no go.
