I am in week 7. My advise is to relax and enjoy it. I too, went straight from couch to the road. Never thought I would enjoy running and now I look forward to it . Dont be discouraged if you need to repeat a week . I've done this for several of the weeks, if I havent completed the week I'm doing satisfactory to my liking, I will repeat it and theres nothing wrong with doing that . Have fun and feel free to add me as a friend :)
  • I too am on Week 7, and I too came straight from the couch.....This morning, I ran for 3 miles straight (in 45 minutes). When I started in early September the 60 second runs were almost un-achievable. I was 50lbs overweight. Now, I'm only 35lbs overweight.....

As Tinkerbell said above, relax, and enjoy it. It's addicting and you'll come to love hitting the pavement. :)

Feel free to add me as a friend too if you'd like.

also as silly as it sounds, sign up for a 5k . I signed up in my early weeks for my first 5k that will be Dec 8th. It will help keep you motivated to train :)

Yes!! Great advice! My first 5K is November 17th! :) Scared to death, but also super-excited!

I started from the couch, and have just completed W1 of 5K to 10K, so it really does work, I repeated a few weeks here and there on C25K, but by taking it easy I came out the other end running the 5K without any injuries, and I love running now :-

I am W3D3... it is amazing how fast it happens! Like the others say, repeat the week if you are not happy. I could not run the full minute when I started, last night I ran 3 minutes twice... ok, I was dying at the end of it but it felt amazing! :)

I think I will repeat W3D3 until I feel like I can go further. I don't see myself running 5 minutes straight just yet :D

I know how you feel - I was a complete novice too and I think we're all proof that the program works. I'm on week 7 and I ran 3 miles last night! It's amazing that 8 weeks ago I couldnt even run 100yards for the bus!!

I agree, dont be scared to repeat a week and sign up for a 5K - my first is on Saturday and I'm excited and terrified! xx

Week 5, but reset it due to a month hiatus.

Invest in your shoes. Seriously. It's all I can really say that I regretted at the beginning.
    As well.
PLANKS. If your body isn't used to the run, plank it up to strengthen your core, back muscles and legs. They'll thank you.
