Hi Deanna, I'm new to MFP and real new to any kind of message boards whatsoever, but your question intrigued me as I am in the middle of a weight loss stall myself. I don't know if the flareup "causes" my stall, but I am pretty certain that my cycle and flareups happen at about the same time and we've all heard that the menstrual cycle can keep the scale numbers from falling. I would wonder first if your cycle and flareups correspond. I've had firbro for over 20 years and while a lot of things are still uncertain - best meds, best docs, best treatments - the one thing I am positive of is that the pain and fatigue get so much worse the just before my period. I hope this helps you.0

thanks.....and yeah..,when i do have my cycles it does seem to flare up the fibro too, not the case this last round unfortunatley...the swelling went down and saw a 2 pund weight loss from last weigh in and had a great weekend...however over did it and fibro flared a little and bam the scale went up..i guess its safe to say for me the scale is affected a little.
sounds like you have been fighting this for a while also, i was dx at 17, good luck on your weight loss journey, i am finding this is a great tool and so many supportive people on here and loads of informations and motivation. i joined a while back but finally got serious about logging beginning of september....and first time utilizing the forums and groups and trying not to be so shy.....0 -
Yes In my opinion it affects it. I do usually flare during that time of the month. But that is not the case now. The rain has caused a serious flare and I saw the scale go up 2 1/2 lbs this week. I know thanksgiving was last week but I still stayed within my cals for the week. It is so discouraging but I find if I stick with it when the flare is over I usually lose some the following week0

I have not noticed any scale impacts from flareups medically. But I will certainly be much less active, depressed, and likely eat more than usual. A triple whammy!0
