I'm new to this group, and would like to add new friends for motivation! I do really well during the week, but on the weekends I feel like I have no self control.. if you have a great recipe you can share with me that would be wonderful!

i made some chili this week out of tosca's clean eating recipe book. didn't follow exact but pretty close and it was fantastic. no meat but didn't even miss it. you start it with carrots, red bell pepper and onion chopped in a food processor (really fine) and cook that in olive oil with a lot of chili pepper and cumin... oregano and basil. fantastic base. lots of beans added--i used chicken broth and canned tomatoes (she used vegatable broth). oh--and canned corn, too. yum.0

This is one of favorites for clean recipes and clean treats for my family.
http://detoxinista.com/
She is a holistic health counselor and an amazing chef. I love her recipes because she explains everything and gives great alternatives, like a "flax egg" instead of a real egg, if you don't want to use one. She also gives great tips on how to make the recipe the best way, like the secret to great "Cauliflower Pizza Crust."
Beware though...her dessert recipes are amazing (must always remind myself to make small portions or give most of it away.)0 -

Thank-you for the two references. I really like the gracious pantry site. I have thought about eating clean and did not know how in the world to get the pantry right. The site suggested changing out one type food per week.0

I bought most of Tosca Reno's clean eating books & subscribe to the magazine, love and filling.
My new fav:
Oven 350
2 slices of turkey bacon chopped, chopped onion (or tomatoe or both)
Spray 2 holes in muffin sheet
put turkey, veggies in muffin hole and add 3-4 egg whites
top with 1tbsp bread crumbs that have been lightly toasted in a pan (1-2min.)
After 20-25 min you have a high protien filling breaky.
I make a hole muffin tin so I have snacks pre-made for the next couple of days.
I figure its 80ish calories for each and filling!0
